Connecting Apple Mail (macOS)

Use the default Mail app on your Mac to access TrekMail.

Step-by-step

1. Open Mail.
2. Go to Mail in the menu bar -> Add Account....
3. Select Other Mail Account... and click Continue.
4. Enter:
   • Name: Your Name
   • Email Address: Your full TrekMail address
   • Password: Mailbox password
5. Click Sign In.
6. Apple Mail will say "Unable to verify account name or password" (This is normal, as it tries to auto-guess).
7. Fill in the detailed server settings:
   • Account Type: IMAP
   • Incoming Mail Server: imap.trekmail.net
   • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.trekmail.net
8. Click Sign In.
9. Select the apps you want to use (Mail, Notes) and click Done.

Troubleshooting

• Symptom: "Unable to verify...".
  • Cause: Apple tries imap.yourdomain.com first.
  • Fix: Ensure you manually overwrite the server fields to trekmail.net servers.
