IMAP & SMTP settings for all email apps
Use these secure server details when an email app asks you to configure a TrekMail mailbox manually.
Guided setup is easier
Open Apps & devices for the mailbox to get instructions tailored to Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or another app. See Connect TrekMail to Any Email App.
Incoming mail (IMAP)
| Server | imap.trekmail.net |
|---|---|
| Port | 993 |
| Security | SSL/TLS |
| Username | Full mailbox address, such as hello@example.com |
| Password | The mailbox password |
TrekMail uses IMAP so mail stays synchronized across webmail and every connected device. POP3 is not supported.
Outgoing mail (SMTP)
| Server | smtp.trekmail.net |
|---|---|
| Recommended port | 465 with SSL/TLS |
| Alternative port | 587 with STARTTLS |
| Authentication | Required; choose Password or Normal |
| Username | Full mailbox address |
| Password | The same mailbox password |
smtp.trekmail.net in the email app. TrekMail applies the private route behind the scenes. Do not share provider credentials with mailbox users.
Concurrent IMAP connection limits
A connection is an active link opened by an email app. Normal use on a few devices stays well below these limits.
| Plan | Per IP address | Across all devices |
|---|---|---|
| Nano | 10 | 15 |
| Starter | 25 | 40 |
| Pro | 50 | 80 |
| Agency | 100 | 150 |
If an app reports “Maximum connections exceeded,” close unused email apps and wait for their old connections to end before reconnecting.
Important checks
- Always use the complete mailbox address as the username.
- Use the mailbox password, not the TrekMail dashboard password.
- You do not need a separate app password.
- Confirm sending is ready in Apps & devices before testing an app that validates both servers.
