Set Up a TrekMail Mailbox in Spark

Spark may try to configure a mailbox automatically. Use manual setup if the detected servers do not match the values TrekMail shows for that mailbox. The steps are similar on Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android.

Before you start

Open Mailboxes, choose the mailbox, then open Apps & devices. Have the full mailbox address and its mailbox password ready. Do not use the TrekMail dashboard password unless it happens to be the same value.

Add the account

1. Open Settings → Accounts, or choose Add account on first launch, then select Email account.
2. Select Set up account manually.
3. Enter the full mailbox address and mailbox password, then open Additional Settings.
4. Copy the incoming and outgoing server names from Apps & devices.

Use IMAP port 993 with SSL/TLS. For outgoing mail, use SMTP port 465 with SSL/TLS. Port 587 with STARTTLS is the supported alternative when the network blocks port 465. Use the full mailbox address as the username for both servers and make sure SMTP authentication is on.

Select Add or Log in. Spark verifies the account before it finishes.

The usual platform hosts are imap.trekmail.net and smtp.trekmail.net. A verified White Label setup can show branded hosts instead, so do not replace the values in Apps & devices with a server name guessed from the email address.

If Spark will not connect

• Re-enter the full mailbox address as both usernames.
• Confirm that the password belongs to this mailbox, not the dashboard account.
• If only sending fails, try port 587 with STARTTLS or another network.
• If Spark shows a certificate warning, stop and recheck the displayed hostname. Do not disable certificate checks.

Spark processes some smart features through its own service. Review its current privacy information before connecting a sensitive mailbox.

If the problem remains, send support the exact Spark version and error message, but never the mailbox password.
