Email Verifier helps you review an address list before you send to it. It checks the address format, the receiving domain and other deliverability signals, then gives every address a status and score. Treat the result as a decision aid, not a guarantee that a message will be delivered or welcomed.

Before you start

Verify the email address on your TrekMail sign-in first. The verifier will show a prompt if the account email is not confirmed.

You can verify one address or a list of up to 50,000 unique addresses in one job. Start with a small sample if you are using a new source of contacts. It is an easy way to confirm that the column and the result categories make sense before spending credits on the full list.

Open the verifier

  1. Sign in to TrekMail.
  2. Select Email Verifier in the sidebar.
  3. Check the available-credit panel, then start in Prepare.

The page keeps recent jobs below the wizard, so you can return to a result without uploading the list again.

Credits and modes

Every mail plan includes a monthly allowance.

Plan Monthly credits
Nano 10
Starter 100
Pro 300
Agency 1,000

The credit panel shows the current balance and reset date. You can buy extra credits when needed; purchased credits remain in the balance until used.

Choose a mode before submitting the list:

  • Quick is the default. It runs the core 23 checks and costs 1 credit per address. Use it for routine hygiene and lists you already know.
  • Deep adds two extra risk checks and may request additional mailbox evidence where the receiving mail system permits it. It normally costs 2 credits per address.

Some large mailbox providers do not provide useful per-mailbox answers to this type of check. Addresses at those providers are charged at the 1-credit rate even in a Deep job. The cost preview in the dashboard is the amount that will actually be charged for your list.

Prepare a list

In Prepare, paste addresses or upload a file:

  • Paste a column of addresses, a comma-separated list, or text that contains addresses.
  • Upload a .csv, .xlsx, or .txt file up to 10 MB.

TrekMail extracts addresses, normalizes duplicates and shows the count before you start. For spreadsheets, make the email column easy to identify and quickly review the preview. The submitted job can contain up to 50,000 unique addresses.

A quick source-file check

Before starting a large job, check the source itself:

  1. Keep one address per contact. If a contact has several addresses, put each one on its own row.
  2. Keep the original file. The verifier export is a review result, not a replacement for your customer or consent record.
  3. Remove notes, passwords, API keys and other data that does not belong in a contact list.
  4. If an extracted count looks unexpectedly high or low, stop and correct the source before spending credits.

Duplicates in the same submission are counted once. Addresses that are not valid enough to be accepted by the bulk API are reported separately there, so an integration can correct its source instead of paying to process bad input.

Choose paste or upload

Use this When it helps What to check
Paste You have a small list, a copied spreadsheet column or text that contains addresses. Check the extracted count and a few addresses in the preview.
CSV You export contacts from another tool. Confirm the correct email column was found.
XLSX Your list is already maintained in a spreadsheet. Keep the email data on the first sheet and use a clear column.
TXT You have one address per line or addresses mixed into plain text. Review the extracted list before starting.

Start and follow a job

After choosing a mode, review the count and credit estimate, then select Start Verification. Credits are reserved when the job starts. The job continues in the background, so you can leave the page and return later.

The three stages are:

  1. Prepare: add the list, choose the mode and review the estimate.
  2. Verify: follow the progress and current totals.
  3. Results: filter, inspect and export the completed results.

If you accidentally submit the same normalized list in the same mode within 24 hours, TrekMail points you to the existing job instead of creating a second one.

If the job does not start

First check the message beside the estimate. The usual causes are an unverified TrekMail sign-in email, a list larger than the job limit, Deep mode not being available in that dashboard, or an insufficient credit balance. Correct the item shown there and submit again. Do not repeatedly resubmit after an uncertain network error: open the history first to see whether a job was created.

Read the result

Status Score Practical next step
Safe 90-100 Your strongest group. Use normal sending safeguards and consent rules.
Valid 60-89 Usually suitable, but keep an eye on bounces and engagement.
Risky 20-59 Review the source and consider a lower-risk or permission-based follow-up.
Invalid 0-19 Remove or correct before sending.
Unknown No reliable result Try again later or leave out of a sensitive campaign.

Select a row to see the checks and risk factors for that address. See Reading Email Verification Results for a fuller explanation.

A practical first decision

For a new list, do not send to every non-Invalid address at once. A useful first pass is to export Safe + Valid for a permitted campaign, put Risky into a separate review group, and inspect a small sample of each outcome. If a pattern appears, such as a recurring domain typo or one weak import source, fix it in the source system before your next import.

Export and keep results

Completed, partial and cancelled jobs with processed addresses can be downloaded. Choose an export that suits the next step, such as all results, one status, or a combined deliverable group. CSV exports include the address, status, score, provider and recorded risk factors.

Results are retained for 15 days. Download the file you need before that period ends, especially if you must keep it with your campaign records.

The export does not add addresses to a mailing list or change their permissions. Use it to update the contact system that owns your sending choices, and keep opt-outs and bounced contacts out of later sends.
