The Email Verifier in your TrekMail dashboard uses a 3-step wizard to walk you through the entire verification process: Prepare → Verify → Results. A step indicator at the top shows where you are at all times.

Accessing the Verifier

Click Email Verifier in the left sidebar. You'll see your current credit balance and the wizard starting at Step 1 (Prepare). Your verification history is always visible in a table below the wizard.

Step 1: Prepare

In the Prepare step, you configure your verification job before anything runs.

Choose your verification mode

The mode selector is at the top of Step 1 — you see the Quick vs Deep choice before entering any emails. Each mode card displays a summary and has a "See all checks" expandable link so you can review exactly what is included.

  • Quick (default) — runs 22 checks using DNS and pattern analysis. Costs 1 credit per email.
  • Deep — runs all 25 checks including SMTP mailbox verification and spam trap heuristics. Costs 2 credits per email.

Paste or upload your emails

Pick whichever input method suits your workflow:

  • Paste tab — paste your emails (one per line, comma-separated, or mixed text — we extract them automatically). You can paste even a single email address.
  • Upload tab — upload a CSV, XLSX, or TXT file (max 50,000 emails). We auto-detect the email column and extract addresses.

Supported formats:

  • CSV — auto-detects the column containing emails
  • XLSX — reads the first sheet, auto-detects email column
  • TXT — extracts all email-like patterns from the file

"What will happen" summary

After entering your emails, a "What will happen" summary box appears showing:

  • How many emails were found
  • How many duplicates were removed
  • The verification mode selected (Quick or Deep)
  • The exact credit cost before you confirm

Review the summary and click Start Verification to proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Verify

Step 2 shows full-screen processing with live progress. You'll see:

  • Job name and mode (Quick or Deep)
  • Live progress bar for Quick checks
  • A second progress bar for SMTP probes (Deep mode only)
  • Mini stats (safe, valid, invalid counts updating in real time)

You're free to navigate away or close the browser — the job runs in the background. When you return, the wizard resumes at the current step.

Step 3: Results

When verification completes, results appear automatically in Step 3. No need to click "View Results" — the wizard advances on its own. The results step includes:

  • A filterable table with live-updating counts
  • Filter by status: All, Safe, Valid, Risky, Invalid
  • Click any result to see detailed check information
  • Results are retained for 15 days
  • The URL updates to ?job=X so you can bookmark or share a direct link — refreshing the page preserves your selected job

Downloading Results

Click the Download button to export a CSV file. Choose a filter:

  • All — every result
  • Safe only — only addresses scored 90+
  • Safe + Risky — safe, valid, and risky addresses (score 20+)

History

Your verification history is always visible in a table below the wizard — no need to navigate to a separate page. The history table shows all past and current jobs with their status, mode, email count, and results summary. Click any job to load its results in the wizard.

SMTP results (Deep mode)

When you use Deep mode, results include additional SMTP verification data:

  • SMTP Accepted — the mail server confirmed the mailbox exists. Trust score receives a +5 bonus.
  • SMTP Rejected — the mail server explicitly rejected the address. The email is marked Invalid (score set to 0).
  • SMTP Inconclusive — the server could not confirm or deny the mailbox. This is common with catch-all domains (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook). The score relies on other checks.
  • SMTP Skipped — SMTP verification was not attempted (Quick mode, or the domain was already flagged as invalid).

The SMTP status column appears in results only when the job was run in Deep mode.

Tips

  • Duplicate emails are automatically removed before verification
  • If you upload the same list twice within 24 hours, we return the previous results (no double charge)
  • Credits are deducted upfront when you submit the list
  • You can cancel a running job from Step 2
