The TrekMail Email Verifier runs on a credit system. Every plan includes free monthly credits; if you need more, buy credit packs in 10 tiers from $5 to $999. This article is the reference for every price and discount in the system, plus when each tier makes sense for typical workloads.

All prices in USD. Your actual billing currency (EUR, GBP, CAD, etc.) is determined at checkout based on your account currency.

What costs a credit and what doesn't

Costs credits:

  • Quick verification — 1 credit per email
  • Deep verification — 2 credits per email

Free (doesn't cost credits):

  • Email extraction from pasted text, CSV/XLSX upload, or documents — parsing addresses out of mixed content doesn't consume credits. You only pay when you click Start Verification on the extracted list.
  • Result viewing and CSV download — viewing or downloading past results is free regardless of when you ran the original verification.
  • Status / balance API calls — checking credit balance via API is free.

Free monthly credits by plan

Every plan includes a baseline that resets monthly:

Plan Monthly free credits
Nano 10
Starter 100
Pro 300
Agency 1,000

Unused monthly credits do not roll over — use them or lose them.

If you're on a free trial, you get Nano-tier credits (10/month). Once you subscribe to a paid plan, your allocation upgrades to match your plan immediately.

Quick vs Deep — verification mode cost

Mode Credits per email Total checks When to use
Quick (default) 1 22 Lists where speed matters more than absolute certainty; large list cleaning; pre-import sanity checks
Deep 2 25 (Quick + 3 deep) High-value lists, cold outreach where bounces hurt, post-acquisition list verification, anti-spam-trap protection

The 3 extra Deep checks include live SMTP probe of the recipient mailserver, catch-all domain detection, and spam-trap heuristics — they're significantly more reliable for catch-all domains and recently-active mail systems.

Free-provider discount in Deep mode

If you submit a Deep job that contains addresses on Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, iCloud, AOL, or similar large free email providers, those addresses are billed at the regular 1-credit rate, not the 2-credit Deep rate. Business domains (your own corporate domains, customer domains, anything not on that list) still cost 2 credits in Deep mode.

The reason: free providers don't allow per-mailbox verification, so Deep Check can't tell you anything Quick can't. Rather than charging you twice for the same result, we charge you once.

You'll see the split before you submit. The cost summary above the Start verification button shows it like this:

Costs 140 credits (12 Deep at 2 each + 116 free-provider at 1 each) of your 6,000

And when more than 10% of a Deep list is on free providers, a callout appears above the Verify button with the exact savings (e.g. "116 of 128 addresses use free email providers — total 140 credits, saving 116 vs. flat Deep pricing").

The API surfaces the same split — verify/bulk responses include a breakdown block with the per-domain counts and savings. See Email Verifier API reference.

Cost-per-email comparison at different list sizes:

List size Quick (1 credit/email) Deep (2 credits/email)
100 emails 100 credits 200 credits
1,000 emails 1,000 credits 2,000 credits
10,000 emails 10,000 credits 20,000 credits
50,000 emails 50,000 credits 100,000 credits
100,000 emails 100,000 credits 200,000 credits
500,000 emails 500,000 credits 1,000,000 credits

Deep totals assume an all-business list. Lists with free-provider addresses pay less in Deep mode (1 credit each for those). See the Free-provider discount section above.

Credit pack tiers (purchasable)

Pack Price Per-email Tier discount vs base
1,000 $5.00 $0.0050 — (base rate)
2,500 $10.00 $0.0040 20% off
5,000 $17.00 $0.0034 32% off
10,000 $29.00 $0.0029 42% off
25,000 $59.00 $0.0024 52% off
50,000 $99.00 $0.0020 60% off
100,000 $179.00 $0.0018 64% off
250,000 $399.00 $0.0016 68% off
500,000 $699.00 $0.0014 72% off
1,000,000 $999.00 $0.0010 80% off

At the top tier, you're paying a tenth of a cent per email — comparable to or cheaper than most third-party verification APIs.

How to read this when planning a job

The "per-email" column is the cost with Quick mode. For Deep mode, double the credit cost — so the effective per-email rate doubles too.

Quick example: you have a 50,000-email list to verify in Deep mode.

  • Deep mode costs 100,000 credits for 50k emails.
  • Cheapest pack covering this: 100,000 credits for $179 → $0.00358 per email overall (about 0.36¢ each).
  • Alternatively, two 50k packs ($99 × 2 = $198) — slightly more expensive than one 100k pack, but gives you 100k credits also.

The rule of thumb: always buy the smallest pack that fits, or the next size up if you're confident you'll use the surplus later. Surplus credits never expire, so over-buying isn't wasted as long as you keep using the verifier.

Volume scenarios

Solo founder, occasional verification (a few hundred a month):

Your Pro plan's 300 monthly credits cover this. No need to buy packs.

Marketing team, regular list cleaning (5-20k a month):

The 100,000 credit pack ($179) covers 5-9 months of typical use depending on mode. Per-email cost: $0.0018-$0.0036. Repurchase as needed.

Cold outreach agency, large volume (50-100k a month):

The 250,000 pack ($399) covers 2-5 months. Per-email: $0.0016 (Quick) / $0.0032 (Deep). Aggressive enough that buying the 1M pack ($999) is worth it if you'll burn through it within a year.

Enterprise / data company (millions a month):

The 1M pack ($999) gets you below $0.001 per email. For multi-million volumes, contact sales for custom enterprise pricing.

Monthly reset timing

  • Nano — monthly free credits reset on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC.
  • Starter / Pro / Agency — monthly free credits reset on your subscription's invoice renewal date. If you signed up on the 15th, they refill on the 15th of each subsequent month.

When you upgrade or downgrade your plan, the monthly allocation changes immediately to match the new plan. Next reset still happens at your usual cycle date.

Deduction order (monthly first, then purchased)

When you run a verification:

  1. We first deduct from your monthly free allocation.
  2. Once monthly hits zero, we start drawing from purchased credits.

This means buying credits never wastes your monthly free quota — it always burns first.

Where to view your balance

  • Verifier page — top header shows monthly + purchased breakdown.
  • Verifier sidebar — compact counter.
  • API: GET /api/v1/verify/credits — returns JSON with current totals and next-reset date.

What happens if I run out mid-job

Credits are deducted upfront. If your balance can't cover the full job, the verification refuses to start with an error: "Insufficient credits. You have X credits, need Y." You won't end up with a half-verified list and the rest stuck.

If you start a job and it succeeds in part but fails partway through (technical error on our side, rare), we refund credits for the unverified portion automatically.

Volume savings, summarized

The largest pack (1M) is 80% cheaper per email than the smallest pack (1K). If you anticipate verifying 50k+ emails over the next 6-12 months, buying in volume saves real money. Surplus credits don't expire, so the only "risk" is over-buying — but for active senders, surplus depletes fairly quickly.

API verification is available on all plans

Including Nano. API access is gated by your credit balance, not your plan. Create an API token from Dashboard → AI Agents & API. See Email Verifier API Quickstart.

Comparison with alternatives

For context, third-party email verification services typically charge:

  • Hunter.io — $0.001 to $0.0045 per verification depending on subscription.
  • NeverBounce — $0.003 to $0.008 per email.
  • ZeroBounce — $0.002 to $0.0075 per email.
  • Kickbox — $0.004 to $0.01 per email.

TrekMail's 1M pack at $0.0010/email is competitive with the cheapest tiers of major standalone verifiers. The mid-tier packs ($0.0014-$0.0034) match or undercut most subscription-level offerings, plus you get the convenience of one bill for verification + mail hosting.
