Mailspring has an IMAP / SMTP option for providers that are not presets. Use it with the values shown for your mailbox in TrekMail.
Before you start
Open Mailboxes, choose the mailbox, then open Apps & devices. Have the full mailbox address and its mailbox password ready. The mailbox password may be different from your dashboard password.
Add the account
- On the welcome screen, select Add Account. If Mailspring is already open, use Mailspring → Add Account on macOS or File → Add Account on Windows or Linux.
- Choose IMAP / SMTP from the provider list.
- Enter your name, full mailbox address, and mailbox password.
- Copy the incoming and outgoing server names from Apps & devices.
Use IMAP port 993 with SSL/TLS. For outgoing mail, use SMTP port 465 with SSL/TLS. Port 587 with STARTTLS is the supported alternative when the network blocks port 465. Use the full mailbox address as the username for both servers and enable SMTP authentication.
Select Connect Account. Mailspring checks both servers before it finishes, then starts syncing the inbox.
The usual platform hosts are imap.trekmail.net and smtp.trekmail.net, but a verified White Label mailbox may show branded hosts. Always use the values shown for the mailbox. Even when the domain uses a custom sending provider, do not put that provider's private credentials into Mailspring; TrekMail applies the route on the server.
If it will not connect
- Recheck the displayed server names, ports, and security modes.
- Use the full mailbox address as both usernames.
- Confirm that you entered the mailbox password, not the dashboard password.
- Do not accept a certificate warning or turn encryption off.
- If only sending fails, try port 587 with STARTTLS or test from another network.
If the problem remains, open a support ticket with the exact Mailspring error and the non-secret settings you entered. Never send the password.
