Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Add an extra layer of security to your TrekMail account using TOTP (Time-based One-Time Passwords).
Enabling 2FA
- Go to Settings -> Security.
- Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.).
- Enter the 6-digit code to confirm setup.
- Save your backup codes in a secure location.
Logging in with 2FA
After entering your password, you'll be prompted for a 6-digit code from your app.
Disabling 2FA
- Go to Settings -> Security.
- Click Disable Two-Factor Authentication.
- Confirm with your authenticator code.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: Code is always invalid.
- Fix: Ensure your phone's time is accurate. TOTP relies on synchronized time.
- Symptom: Lost access to authenticator app.
- Fix: Use one of your backup codes to log in, then disable and re-enable 2FA with a new app.
