Yahoo Mail and AOL Mail use similar setup steps. Once connected, their messages appear inside TrekMail and you can reply and send from that address. Use a provider-issued app password rather than your normal sign-in password.

Create an app password

For Yahoo:

  1. Open Yahoo Account Security and sign in.
  2. Under External connections, choose Create app password. Yahoo may use a different label in some account views.
  3. Name it something recognizable, such as TrekMail, select Generate, and copy the password Yahoo shows.

For AOL, open AOL Account Security and follow its current app-password flow. The labels can differ from Yahoo's.

Copy the password before closing the page. If the option is missing, the provider's security policy or account eligibility may prevent it. Use the provider's help before changing other security settings.

Add it in TrekMail

  1. In TrekMail webmail, select your profile picture, then Settings → Connected accounts.
  2. Select Connect an account and enter the full Yahoo or AOL address. TrekMail fills in the provider's server settings.
  3. Paste the app password.
  4. Select Test connection, then Save once it passes.

The account appears in the sidebar under Connected accounts and can be included in All inboxes.

Sending

When you reply to or send from the connected Yahoo or AOL account, the message goes through that provider's servers using the app password. Recipients see the real address and the provider keeps the sent copy in its Sent folder.

If it will not connect

The usual cause is using the normal password instead of the app password, or a typo while pasting it. Check the app password in the provider's security settings and create a new one if it was removed or you no longer have it. For Yahoo, app passwords stay active until you delete them, even after a main-password change. See Fixing connected account problems for more help.
