Most hosting providers (Bluehost, SiteGround, GoDaddy cPanel, Namecheap) use standard IMAP servers. This guide helps you connect them to TrekMail.
Step 1: Get Source Details
Log in to your old hosting panel (cPanel) and find Email Accounts -> Connect Devices. Look for "Secure SSL/TLS Settings":
- Incoming Server: Usually
mail.yourdomain.comorimap.hostingprovider.com. - IMAP Port:
993. - Username: Usually your full email address.
Step 2: Start Migration
- Go to TrekMail Migration -> New Migration.
- Source Host: Enter the server from Step 1.
- Port:
993(SSL). - Username: Your full email (
you@yourdomain.com). - Password: The password for that email account on the old host.
- Start migration.
Troubleshooting
- Symptom: "Connection Refused" or "Certificate Error".
- Cause: Your old host might be using a self-signed certificate.
- Fix: If you trust the host, you can try
143(Non-SSL), but we strongly recommend securing your old server first.
- Symptom: "Authentication failed".
- Cause: Some old cPanel hosts use just the username part (e.g.,
aliceinstead ofalice@domain.com). Try both formats.
