Sync TrekMail with Apple Calendar and Contacts

If you live inside Apple Calendar and Contacts on your Mac, you can connect them to your TrekMail mailbox so events and contacts sync both ways. The same account on macOS will also flow through to your iPhone and iPad automatically through iCloud, but if you want native iOS sync without iCloud in the middle, see the iPhone and iPad guide.

Who this is for

You use Apple Calendar.app or Contacts.app as your daily driver and you want events you create in TrekMail webmail (or accept from email invitations) to appear there automatically, and the other way around. This guide is for macOS Sonoma and later. Older macOS releases use the same dialogs in slightly different places.

What you get

• Events you create in TrekMail webmail show up in Apple Calendar within a few minutes.
• Events you create in Apple Calendar show up in TrekMail webmail.
• Meeting invitations you accept in either place stay in sync.
• The same applies to contacts: edits flow both ways.

The connection is a standard CalDAV/CardDAV link, open protocols, no proprietary glue.

Settings you'll need

Use https://trekmail.net/dav/ for both CalDAV and CardDAV. If your White Label provider has explicitly supplied a verified branded DAV address, use that address instead. The Apps & devices screen currently lists mail-client settings only; it does not publish DAV addresses.

Calendar and contacts apps need an app password in App passwords only mode. Mailbox password or app passwords accepts either. Create one in webmail under Settings > App passwords, or in the dashboard under Mailboxes > the mailbox > Security > App passwords. Webmail itself still uses the mailbox password. Setting up Apple Calendar (macOS)

1. Open Calendar.app.
2. From the menu bar: Calendar → Add Account.
3. Choose Other CalDAV Account and click Continue.
4. Set Account Type to Manual.
5. Fill in User Name (your TrekMail email), Password (as described above), and the CalDAV Server Address from the table above.
6. Click Sign In.

Apple Calendar will discover your TrekMail calendars and start a first sync. Existing events appear within a minute or two depending on how many you have.

Setting up Apple Contacts (macOS)

1. Open Contacts.app.
2. From the menu bar: Contacts → Add Account.
3. Choose Other Contacts Account and click Continue.
4. Set Account Type to CardDAV and Type to Manual.
5. Fill in User Name (your TrekMail email), Password (as described above), and the CardDAV Server Address from the table above.
6. Click Sign In.

Common problems

Auto-discovery fails. Re-check that you set Account Type to Manual and entered the full DAV address, including /dav/. Do not guess a host from the webmail address.

"No calendar home was specified." Confirm that the user name is your complete TrekMail email address and refresh the account. If the warning remains, contact support with the macOS version shown under Apple menu → About This Mac. This message means Calendar authenticated but could not finish CalDAV calendar-home discovery; it is not normally a password error.

"The user name or password is incorrect." Check the mailbox's sign-in mode in Apps & devices and use an app password if required. Never use your dashboard password. You may also see "Sign-in failed. This mailbox accepts app passwords only: create one in webmail under Settings > App passwords." Create one there and enter it in the failing Calendar or Contacts account. A replaced or revoked app password needs to be updated too.

Calendar doesn't show new events from TrekMail webmail. Apple Calendar polls in the background; the default interval is 5–15 minutes. To force a refresh: View → Refresh Calendars (or press ⌘ R).
