Frequently asked questions
How do I know when my balance is ready to withdraw?
The Available balance shown on the Overview and Payouts tabs is the amount you can request right now. Once it reaches $50, the Request payout button becomes active.
Why is my available balance lower than I expected?
A few things can cause this:
- Hold period: Commissions earned in the last 30 days are still Pending and not yet available. Only commissions that have cleared the hold period count toward your available balance.
- Refunds: If a referred customer received a refund, the associated commission was reversed and deducted from your balance.
- Previous payout: If you recently requested a payout, the requested amount has been moved out of your available balance pending processing.
How long does it take to receive my payout?
Payout requests are reviewed within 1–2 business days. After approval, the payment is dispatched the same day. Depending on your method:
- PayPal: funds typically appear within minutes to a few hours of dispatch
- Stripe: funds typically arrive within 1–2 business days after dispatch, depending on your payout destination and bank
Why was my payout request declined?
Payout requests can be declined for several reasons:
- Missing or unapproved tax profile
- Payout method not configured correctly (for example, an invalid PayPal email)
- Your account is under review due to a flagged compliance issue
- The available balance changed between when you submitted the request and when it was reviewed (for example, due to a refund)
If your request was declined, the reason is shown in the Payouts tab. Resolve the issue and resubmit.
Can I request a partial payout?
Yes. You can choose any amount between $50 and your full available balance. Your remaining available balance stays in your account for the next request.
What fees are deducted from my payout?
TrekMail deducts the payment processor's transfer fee from the payout amount. For Stripe, this is Stripe's payout or transfer fee based on your destination country. For PayPal, this is PayPal's receiving fee (if applicable). TrekMail does not add a separate platform fee.
The exact fee is not shown in advance because it varies by method and destination. To estimate fees, check the current fee schedules on Stripe's website (stripe.com/pricing) or PayPal's website (paypal.com/fees).
Can I change my payout method?
Yes. Go to Payouts → Payout settings and update your method at any time. The change applies to future requests. If you have a pending payout request, it will still be processed with the method active at the time you submitted it.
I selected Stripe but never received a payout invite. What do I do?
Check the spam or promotions folder in the email address you registered for Stripe payouts. If you still cannot find it, go to Payouts → Payout settings, verify that the email address is correct, and contact TrekMail support to have the invite resent.
I have already set up my Stripe payout details — do I need to go through the invite process again?
No. Once you have completed the payout details the first time, your information is saved. Future payouts are sent using the same details without a new invite.
How do I update my PayPal email?
Go to Payouts → Payout settings, edit the PayPal email field, and save. The new email is used for your next payout request.
Do commissions expire if I don't withdraw them?
No. Your available balance does not expire. You can leave commissions in your account and request a payout whenever it suits you, as long as the minimum of $50 is met.
Is there a maximum amount I can withdraw?
No. You can withdraw your full available balance in a single request.
