Overview
These terms govern participation in the TrekMail Affiliate Program. By submitting an application and participating in the program, you agree to these terms. Read them alongside the Affiliate Program Rules, which cover acceptable and prohibited promotional practices in more detail.
Eligibility
The affiliate program is open to:
- Individuals aged 18 or older
- Registered businesses of any size
- Applicants from any country or territory, provided that country or territory is not currently subject to US government sanctions (OFAC sanctions list)
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Applications are reviewed individually, and TrekMail reserves the right to decline any application without providing a specific reason.
Once approved, your affiliate status is tied to your TrekMail account. You may not transfer, sublicense, or share your affiliate account, links, or commission balance with another party.
Commission structure
- All approved affiliates start at Tier 1 (30% commission rate).
- Commission rates for Tier 2 (35%) and Tier 3 (40%) are assigned at TrekMail's discretion and are not guaranteed.
- Commissions are calculated on qualifying subscription payments, net of Stripe processing fees.
- Commissions are subject to a 30-day hold period before becoming available for withdrawal.
- You earn commissions on a referred customer's subscription payments for up to 12 months from the date of their first qualifying payment.
Changes to the program
TrekMail may modify the affiliate program at any time, including:
- Commission rates and tier thresholds
- Attribution window duration
- Revenue share period
- Minimum payout amount
- Supported payout methods
- Eligibility requirements
When changes affect commission rates or material program terms, TrekMail will provide reasonable advance notice via email or a notice in your affiliate dashboard. Continuing to use your affiliate links after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Changes that are required by law, fraud mitigation, or technical necessity may take effect immediately without prior notice.
Payout conditions
Payouts are subject to:
- A minimum balance of $50 USD
- A submitted and approved tax profile (W9 or W8BEN)
- A configured payout method (Stripe or PayPal)
- The payout request being reviewed and approved by TrekMail within 1–2 business days
TrekMail reserves the right to delay or withhold a payout if an account is under investigation for fraud, policy violations, or suspected self-referral activity. Withheld payouts are released if the account is cleared, or forfeited if the account is found to be in violation.
Account suspension and termination
TrekMail may suspend or terminate your affiliate account for:
- Violation of the Affiliate Program Rules
- Self-referral or fraudulent activity
- Inactivity (no commission-generating activity for an extended period, as defined by TrekMail at its discretion)
- Closure of your underlying TrekMail account
What happens to your balance on termination:
- If your account is terminated for cause (fraud, rule violation), any unpaid commissions may be forfeited.
- If your account is terminated for reasons unrelated to violations (for example, program closure or your own request to leave), any available balance above the minimum payout threshold will be processed and paid out in a final payout.
- Commissions still in the hold period at the time of termination are subject to TrekMail's review and may be forfeited or paid depending on the circumstances.
Your right to leave
You can close your affiliate participation at any time by contacting TrekMail support. Requesting to leave does not affect your underlying TrekMail account. Any available balance at the time of your request will be paid out in a final settlement, subject to the conditions above.
Relationship between you and TrekMail
Participation in the affiliate program does not create an employment, partnership, franchise, or joint venture relationship between you and TrekMail. You are an independent promoter. You are responsible for your own taxes on commissions received and for complying with local laws that apply to your promotional activity, including disclosure requirements.
Governing terms
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to TrekMail's operating entity. Any dispute arising from participation in the affiliate program is subject to the same jurisdiction and dispute resolution mechanism as TrekMail's main Terms of Service.
